Despite attempting to clean the cover we found most images covered in unsightly artefacts, and only reached a desired level of quality after ditching it altogether. We beg to differ on this front, since we found the clear plastic covering of the sheath to be prone to dust and scratches, which then show up on the digital image. In order to get the best results, according to the manual, it's imperative that you place any photos into the supplied plastic sheath before scanning.
